You may be wondering, “What is a gondola?” Many Americans have never been on a gondola ride, as they are primarily used in Venice, Italy. A gondola is a long, narrow, flat-bottomed rowing boat. During most gondola rides, the boats are powered by gondoliers; whose job is to propel the boat using a rowing oar. As a passenger, your only responsibility is to sit back, relax, and take in the beautiful views!
The Napa Valley Gondola offers three gondola experiences. All three of these sightseeing tours are private and can be customized for smaller groups. Be sure to reach out with your special request in advance. A gondola tour is a perfect addition to any romantic getaway in Napa Valley!
The most popular tour is the Wine Tasting Package and Gondola Cruise. This package begins with a wine tasting-for-two at Blackbird Vineyard’s River House. Here, you can enjoy exclusive pours paired with an artisanal cheese plate! Afterward, board a gondola and let your tour guide whisk you and your special someone away down the Napa River where you can enjoy another delicious glass of wine!
Or, choose to take the one-hour Casanova Cruise or the 40-minute Marco Polo Cruise. These options can accommodate up to six riders, so they’re great for group getaways, like a Napa Valley bachelorette party!
Head back to Churchill Manor after you disembark from the Napa Valley Gondola. Our Napa Valley B&B is less than a half-mile away from the gondola’s loading dock on Main Street. You can take an easy stroll through downtown Napa Valley back to Churchill Manor, then retreat to your romantic guest room.
