3 Romantic Restaurants in Napa You Shouldn’t Miss

While outdoor dining has always been trendy in Napa, COVID protocol has increased demand for outdoor options. Lucky for you, the local restaurant scene has delivered! Enjoying a leisurely meal midday on a sunny day or in the evening under a starry sky will only enhance your delicious dining experience. Be sure to check the websites before you visit for information about reservations, mask policies, and even take-out options.

Celadon

Celadon is not only one of the most popular eclectic restaurants in town, but it’s also within walking distance from Churchill Manor. The outdoor patio is surrounded by lush greenery. The patio is covered and heated when necessary, but there is also a fireplace with a chandelier next to it, which only adds to the ambiance!

What’s on the menu? As for the appetizers, the flash-fried calamari is a guest favorite, but so are the Dungeness crab cakes; and the poached Asian pear salad is a light and refreshing choice in warmer weather. The main event comes in the form of irresistible grilled filet mignon served with mashed potatoes, carrots, broccolini, herb butter, and a mushroom marsala sauce. Other mouth-watering options include rigatoni bolognese and Moroccan-braised lamb shank.

La Toque

Your meal at this Michelin-starred restaurant will be nothing short of memorable. In fact, other guests describe La Toque as the “ultimate” (French-inspired) food and wine experience. You can take advantage of two dining options at this rustic bistro: A la carte or The Chef’s Tasting Menu. The first option allows you to choose your own selections from a mouthwatering menu. The second is a bit more adventurous as you’ll be served the chef’s choice of six courses, which includes four savory dishes and two delectable desserts.

A sneak peek at their a la carte menu includes Salt Cod “Croquetas” with Amontillado Manchego Espuma and Pimento Relish, Fresh Spaghetti with Toasted Sunchoke, Fontina Val d’ Aosta with Fresh Burgundy or White Truffles, and A4 Hyogo Wagyu Beef with Lobster Bordelaise Sauce.

Allegria

If you’re in the mood for a romantic Italian dinner, Allegria should be your destination. The chefs artfully fuse California cuisine with Northern Italian influences, and the result is an incredible treat for the senses. This upscale restaurant is in an old bank building and has a lovely patio seating area. They serve both lunch and dinner. When possible, we recommend enjoying a meal of homemade pasta in the Vault Room for a unique and intimate dining experience!

Take some time to pour over the menu before you arrive. It will give you insight into traditional dishes served, including their carpaccio (topped with capers, red onions, arugula, Parmigiano Reggiano, and whole grain mustard sauce) and their Napa cabbage salad (with crispy pepper bacon, mushrooms, garlic croutons, crumbled blue cheese, and a warm red wine vinaigrette). And while the main dishes include favorites such as linguine frutti di mare (fresh mixed fish, clams, mussels, prawns in a spicy marinara sauce), keep an open mind for the chef’s daily specials.
