Which Napa Valley Airport is the most convenient?

Napa County Airport

Napa County Airport, located right here in Napa Valley, is of course the closest airport allowing you to go from tarmac to vineyard in a matter of minutes. It’s just about 20 minutes from the Churchill Manor, a Napa bed and breakfast, and a very convenient Napa Valley airport if you are chartering a flight or piloting your own aircraft. (Pilots, this airport offers aircraft storage facilities.) While there aren’t any car rental agencies available at the airport, you can arrange for private transportation and have it waiting for you upon arrival. Wednesdays are a great day to fly in and out of this airport as they feature “Wine Down Wednesday,” and travelers can enjoy a glass of wine or champagne at half price.

San Francisco International Airport

San Francisco International Airport is one of the largest airports in the region. It’s open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, accommodating flights from more than 50 airlines any time of day or night! This airport is about a 1–hour drive from Napa, and various options for transportation are available. If you have a little time before or after your flight, take advantage of the dining and shopping to pick up a last-minute souvenir. You can also peruse a collection of beautiful art that is courtesy of the SFO Museum and the San Francisco Arts Commission.

Oakland International Airport

Oakland International Airport is another convenient place to land. Located in the San Francisco Bay area, and about 1 hour’s drive from Napa, this airport is a smaller airport and tends to be less crowded. As an international airport, it remains as one of the most convenient Napa Valley airports.

Sacramento International Airport

The Sacramento International Airport was recently redesigned, improving its already easy-to-navigate facility with an elevated people mover and concourse. It’s just a 1 ½-hour drive to Napa and has ranked consistently in the top 4 airports in North America for customer satisfaction. Visit the airport website for the latest information regarding new carriers and non-stop service announcements. It recently announced nonstop service will begin to Chicago in June!

Sonoma County Airport

The Sonoma County Airport is a small airport that is serviced only by Alaska Airlines. You can enjoy daily nonstop flights to and from the Wine Country from Los Angeles, Portland, San Diego and Seattle. Flights are also available to and from Orange County.
