When and Where

The Napa Farmers Market is in a new location on West Street in Downtown Napa. It is open Tuesdays and Saturdays year-round from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., rain or shine. Senior citizens can shop from 8 a.m. until 9 a.m. on those days. More than 50 vendors set up shop on a regular basis. The market is a very short drive from Churchill Manor, making it a wonderful place to stop, after a good night’s rest at our luxury accommodations and a delicious breakfast, before exploring the local wineries.

What to Expect at the Napa Farmers Market

Just as you would find at the farmers market in your home town, the Napa Farmers Market offers certified organic and non-organic produce, farm fresh dairy products, ornamental flowers, craft beer and hand-crafted items such as jewelry. Fresh baked goods are also a staple well as other specialty items (chocolate, anyone?).

Fresh From the Farm

There is something different about farm-fresh produce displayed in baskets or crates. You can sometimes still smell the dirt on the produce, which is a great thing because you know it was recently harvested. Vendors from local farms do vary from time to time, but you will often see the familiar faces standing proudly behind their offerings, which include asparagus, heirloom tomatoes, onions, green beans, garlic, figs, potatoes, berries, eggs, cheese, almonds, walnuts, herbs and much, much more.

Specialty Foods

From handmade chocolates to smoked olives, the range of specialty food vendors at the twice-weekly market does not disappoint. Pure honey, balsamic vinegar, pasta, coffee, and baked goods are among the products you can buy. If you find yourself getting hungry while you’re browsing the vendor stalls, ready-made and fresh-to-order food vendors are also on-site to satisfy your cravings.

Artisans

Napa Valley is an incredible place of creativity. In addition to the hundreds of wineries that produce downright inspired wines, this region is home to a bevy of artists who bring their creative visions to life and share them with those of us who appreciate handmade clothing, jewelry, accessories, home décor and more. Each piece is a masterpiece and a unique reminder of your trip to Napa. Artisan vendors include those selling jewelry, animal-themed tote bags, handmade wine stoppers and jewelry, pottery, paintings, and more.

Tip: Be sure to bring a bag to carry the items you purchase. The city of Napa passed an ordinance in 2015 that restricts single-use bags (with the exception of produce bags). Reusable bags are also available for purchase at the info booth.
