About Prime Solum

Prime Solum was founded by renowned winemaker Bill Hill in 2007. Recognized by Wine Spectator as one of the “Top 50 wine producers in the world who innovated, perfected and led the international campaign for higher quality wine,” his work is legendary. He has developed more than 40 American “Grand Cru” vineyards, each known for producing quality wines. From grape to glass, you can sample some for yourself when you visit Prime Solum. Wine Tastings

You can enjoy a tasting in the Prime Solum Tasting Barn Thursday through Monday from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. Tucked away on Atlas Peak Road, it’s located near Del Dotto Historic Winery and Caves. Although reservations are encouraged, drop-ins are also welcome. Your tasting includes six different single-vineyard wines. Samples by Prime Solum include Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc from the BrokenRock Vineyards. The other three samples are from another one of Bill Hill’s wineries, Expression 38. These include two different types of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from Gap’s Crown Vineyard. Instead of a traditional tasting, visitors can also order their favorite Prime Solum or Expression wine by the glass. Cheers!
