5 Oak Knoll Wineries You’re Going to Love

COVID-19 Notice: Please visit each winery website for info about hours and required reservations. Outdoor tastings only at this time.

Get ready to try something out of the ordinary and perhaps even find a new favorite. The Oak Knoll AVA is just 2 miles north of Napa, and a short drive from Churchill Manor Bed and Breakfast. That makes visiting these wineries as easy as planning your next trip to the wine country.

1. Fortunati Napa Valley

As you begin to plan out your Napa Valley trip, know that Fortunati Vineyards provides a rich experience for each guest. They love to educate visitors about their natural farming and winemaking techniques as much as they love to pour a glass of wine for you to savor. Their small-batch, hand-crafted wines are award-winning and it’s time you see why for yourself! Reserve a Private Tasting or schedule a virtual tasting in preparation for your trip to Napa!

2. Robert Biale

If you love Zinfandel, you might already be acquainted with Robert Biale Vineyards in Oak Knoll. If this is your first introduction, prepare your palate for a unique and unforgettable experience. Taste vineyard classics (with catchy names) like Tres Goetting, First Grade, and Black Chicken for a true zin (and zen) experience. You may be surprised to know they also produce Petite Sirah. Raise a toast to a new taste with a glass of Like Father Like Son red blend or their Royal Punishers Petite Sirah. Make an appointment for a tasting room experience or purchase one of their Virtual Tasting Packs for home.

3. Lewis Cellars

Red or white? You don’t have to choose at Lewis Cellars. Careful consideration goes into every step of the winemaking process at this Oak Knoll winery, so your first sip of red and last glass of white is nothing but enjoyable. Here’s a sample of their tasting notes for the Barcaglia Lane Chardonnay. “Leading with lemon curd, apricot, citrus blossom, and subtle oak spice …” this wine is, “bright on the palate … and finishes in a lifted, mouthwatering manner.” Reservations are required. Make an appointment for your tasting today.

4. Andretti Winery

This award-winning winery is named after Mario Andretti, “the most famous racecar driver of our time.” In fact, Mr. Andretti and former Kmart CEO Joe Antonini founded this winery. They modeled the look after an Italian village and the wine itself after favorites that could be enjoyed every day as well as special varietals for special occasions. While racing is in The Andretti Winery’s roots, you’re going to want to slowly savor each sip of Andretti Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Sangiovese, Pinot Noir, Syrah, Merlot, and Zinfandel. Peruse their tasting options and try not to let your mouth water. We dare you!

5. Materra Cunat Family Vineyards

Whether you visit Materra Winery during a solo trip or with family or friends, the odds of you sharing conversation or a laugh with new friends in the tasting room are high. And that’s all part of the Cunat family’s mission to bring people together. Their Daily Tastings include selections of their Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Viognier, Right Bank, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Other options include their Reserve and White Wine Tastings. Take your pick, make your reservation, and get ready for a delicious ride.
