Origins of Ancien Wine

Ancien Wine barreled its first five barrels of Pinot Noir in 1992. Though a small harvest then, it marked a significant moment: the beginnings of Ancien Wines. They follow the French tradition of barreling and aging their wine. Since their start in 1992, they have expanded to include Pinot Gris and Chardonnay.

What to See When You Visit Ancien Winery

There are numerous events happening at the winery all year long. The spring usually sees the Ancien Spring Release Party. Try the most current release with wood-fired pizza that pairs wonderfully with the wine. This year also sees the Ancien Carneros Toyon Farm Pinot Noir Vertical Tasting on July 28th. Ticket Prices for these are $65 with a reservation. Members of the Wine Club — called “The Quest” — get a special discount on tickets for events as part of their benefits.
