It’s going to be difficult to narrow it down to just one thing, so we’ll give you an overview of the best this winery has to offer!
There are many stories that contribute to the history of Judd’s Hill Winery. This family-owned operation began in the 1970s when wine enthusiasts Bunny and Art Finkelstein turned their Los Angeles home into a winery. Their son, Judd, his wife Holly (and their children) now lead the charge for their small Napa Valley operation, but each has an important role in the mission, daily operations, and legacy of the brand.
The winemaker, Eric Lyman provides another layer to the story. Eric is known for experimenting with nontraditional techniques in order to create interesting fine wines that are always made by hand. Still, he carries out the Judd’s Hill vision to let the fruit guide the winemaking process and to make the wines as naturally as possible.
The result? Delicious, award-winning Judd’s Hill wine.
White Wines – Try their Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Rose and you’ll taste notes of everything from lime and green apple to passion fruit and white peach.
Reds – Their Merlots, Cabernet Sauvignons and Meritages use grapes from various local vineyards to sample wines with a rich taste and fruity undertones.
Reserves – Judd’s Hill Reserve wines include everything from lush Chardonnays to big fruity Syrahs.
If you’re looking for additional options, take a look at (and taste) their Sweet Reds, and their large format wines. All of the above are available online so you don’t need to worry about transporting bottles back home if you don’t want to.
Are you an aspiring vintner? Head to Judd’s Hill Winery where you can fulfill your winemaking dreams with Judds’ Hill Microcrush! The beauty of their process is you can be as involved as you’d like. Provide your own grapes or allow them to source grapes for you. Meet with the winemakers and help with the blending process. Create a custom label or use one of their designs. If you don’t have time to wait for the finished product to go from grape to bottle, you can easily select from their premium varietals to blend and have custom-bottled under your name.
It’s worth noting that great care goes into every bottle of wine at Judd’s Hill Winery, starting with the soil where the grape vines are planted. As a designated Napa Valley Green Winery, Judd’s Hill employs a drainage system that’s environmentally efficient, an aggressive recycling program, composting, and solar lighting.
