Napa Porchfest Is One of the Best Summertime Events in Wine Country

When it comes to events and festivals, Napa, CA, does not disappoint. From BottleRock to Festival del Sol to Music in the Vineyards and more, visitors and locals alike enjoy special events year-round that showcase the sights, sounds, and tastes of Napa. One event that happens to be one of Churchill Manor’s favorites is Napa Porchfest. During this annual July event, more than 100 bands set up and perform for free on the front porches of historic homes throughout Napa. In fact, Churchill Manor’s own exquisite veranda is a venue during this festival. Come and enjoy this free summertime affair that is sure to get your toes a tappin’!

About Napa Porchfest

Napa Porchfest was organized by Napa County Landmarks and kicked off in 2010. Since then, it has continued to draw an increasing number of spectators and performers each year. In 2015, an estimated 12,000-15,000 came to listen to more than 116 musical acts representing a diverse array of musical styles from rock to reggae and country to indie.

True to the festival’s name, the bands perform on the airy front porches of historic homes and businesses. Most venues are area bed and breakfasts, including Churchill Manor! Many of the streets are closed to traffic, allowing music lovers to walk or bike between front porches at a leisurely pace in the California sunshine.

If you plan to attend this year’s Napa Porchfest, be sure to bring either lawn chairs or a blanket, sunscreen, a hat, water and a picnic. If you prefer to travel light, food trucks will be set up at convenient locations during the event.
